My nutritional journey began when I experienced persistent allergies, and for many years, conventional treatments provided only temporary relief through prescription medication. As my allergies worsened, I was left feeling debilitated, with an ever-growing list of food triggers that restricted my lifestyle and daily enjoyment, including simple things like sharing a meal with loved ones.
Frustrated with these limitations, I sought answers beyond conventional medicine. I wanted to understand the root causes of my allergic reactions, uncover why they were getting worse, and explore how nutrition could play a role in my healing.
Recognising that poor nutrition and lifestyle were at the core of my issues, I decided to dive deeper into the world of naturopathic nutrition by studying at The College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). My motivation was not only to better understand my own health journey but also to help others who were struggling with similar issues.
Over the last 15 years, my studies and personal experience have helped me regain control of my health, particularly after becoming a parent. I’ve learnt the profound impact that whole foods, fruits, and vegetables have on both physical and emotional well-being. By incorporating balanced, nutritious meals into my family’s daily life, I have created a healthy environment where my children can thrive.
Along the way, I also recognised the importance of mental well-being. I've come to appreciate that a strict “super-healthy” diet isn’t always mentally sustainable, especially in today’s fast-paced world. That’s why I advocate for balance—a philosophy like the 80/20 rule: 80% of the time, nourish your body with whole foods, and the remaining 20% of the time, allow yourself the joy of indulgence, whether it’s a slice of chocolate cake or a comfort meal with friends.
Through these lifestyle adjustments, I’ve achieved a healthier hormonal balance and managed my allergies naturally, and I am passionate about guiding others to do the same.
